Aldosivi - Union Santa Fe

Union Santa Fe completed a spirited second-half comeback to defeat Aldosivi 3-1 at Estadio Jose Maria Minella in Mar del Plata, moving them to seven points through six matches in the Liga Profesional Argentina.

Aldosivi took the lead in the 18th minute when A. Vombergar finished off a precise through ball from A. Sosa. The home side, managed by Israel Damonte in a 4-2-3-1 setup, appeared comfortable holding that advantage into halftime.

The visitors, coached by Leonardo Madelon in a 4-4-2 formation, squared the contest in the 51st minute. M. Estigarribia played in L. Menossi, who slotted the ball past the goalkeeper to spark hopes of a turnaround.

Just over a decade later in the match, C. Tarragona gave Union Santa Fe the lead for the first time. His strike in the 62nd minute shifted momentum fully in the visitors' direction.

Tarragona doubled his account two minutes later, capitalizing on a well-weighted pass from M. Luna Diale to make it 3-1. The quick brace left Aldosivi reeling and gave Union Santa Fe control of the contest.

Aldosivi struggled to respond, and their frustration mounted. E. Lopez received a yellow card in the 71st minute, followed by B. Dadin in the 75th and N. Breitenbruch in the 82nd as the pressure built.

The hosts’ discipline frayed further when J. Pintado was booked late in the first half, and J. Palacios saw red in the 85th minute after a reckless challenge. Despite being reduced to ten men, Union Santa Fe held firm to preserve the win.

Referee Bruno Amiconi brought the match to a close, confirming three points for Union Santa Fe. The result leaves Aldosivi in 15th place on two points, while Union Santa Fe climb to seventh with seven points from their opening six fixtures.

The defeat will prompt questions for Aldosivi as they search for consistency, while Union Santa Fe can build momentum from a resilient performance that showcased their character in Mar del Plata.
