Atalanta secure loan deal for RB Leipzig midfielder Eljif Elmas
The North Macedonia international joins the Italian side on loan from RB Leipzig for the upcoming season.

Atalanta have moved to bolster their midfield options by securing the signature of RB Leipzig midfielder Eljif Elmas on loan.
The deal, confirmed on Thursday, sees the North Macedonia international arrive at the Italian club for the remainder of the season, with an option reportedly included for a longer stay.
Elmas, who has been a regular figure in Leipzig's midfield since his arrival from Napoli in 2022, will now link up with Atalanta as they look to push for a top-four finish in Serie A.

The loan move comes after a busy summer transfer window for Atalanta, who have already added several new faces to their squad in an effort to improve upon last season's disappointing campaign.
For Elbas, the move represents an opportunity to rediscover his best form after a difficult spell in Germany, where injuries and competition for places limited his playing time.
The player is expected to be available for selection in Atalanta's upcoming fixtures, subject to medical clearance and work permit formalities.
Leipzig confirmed the transfer in a statement released on their official website, thanking Elmas for his contributions and wishing him well in his new adventure.
Atalanta sporting director Giovanni Sartorio praised the acquisition during a press conference, highlighting Elmas's technical ability and experience in both domestic and European competition.
The club's manager, Gian Piero Gasperini, has reportedly been a long-time admirer of the midfielder and believes he can thrive in Atalanta's system.
This marks another step in Atalanta's strategy of recruiting talented players on loan deals, allowing them to strengthen the squad without long-term financial commitment.
Elmas will be assigned the number 8 jersey and is set to train with his new teammates for the first time on Friday morning.
