Atletico-MG Hold Off Late Vitoria Strike to Win 2-1 at Arena MRV

Atletico-MG secured a 2-1 victory over Vitoria at the Arena MRV in Belo Horizonte, maintaining their push up the Serie A table in front of a watchful eye from referee Edina Alves Batista.

The visitors threw everything forward in search of an equalizer, but Atletico-MG’s defense, marshalled by Dominguez’s tactical setup, held firm. M. Cisse was booked late in the action, but the home side managed to see out the closing moments.
In the end, Atletico-MG’s early dominance and clinical finishing proved too much. The result moves them to ninth place in the Serie A table with 33 points from 23 matches.
Vitoria, meanwhile, remain in the middle of the pack. Sitting 12th after the defeat, they have 29 points from 24 games and will need to regroup quickly if they hope to climb the standings.
