Brentford 3-0 Tottenham: Janelt and Kayode secure comfortable home win
Brentford earned a commanding victory at the Brentford Community Stadium with three well-taken goals.

Brentford got their campaign off to a strong start with a convincing 3-0 victory over Tottenham at the Brentford Community Stadium, with goals in each half sealing all three points.
The home side started brightly and took the lead in the 12th minute through Konstantinos Lewis-Potter, who finished calmly after a well-worked move involving Mario Sangare. The assist from Sangare highlighted Brentford's fluid attacking play early on.
Tottenham struggled to impose themselves on the game and were punished again just before the half-hour mark. Villalobos Janelt added a second for Brentford in the 33rd minute, capitalising on a defensive lapse to tap in from close range.

The first half ended with Brentford leading 2-0, and they continued where they left off after the break. In the 49th minute, Melkamu Kayode completed the scoring with a composed finish that left the Tottenham goalkeeper with little chance.
Tottenham, despite making a few changes in the second half, could not find a way back into the contest. Their attacking efforts were largely ineffective, and they failed to test the Brentford defence meaningfully.
A yellow card for Conor Gallagher in the 34th minute summed up Tottenham's frustration, as they struggled to break down a well-organised Brentford side under Keith Andrews.
Brentford's solid defensive display and clinical finishing ensured they kept a clean sheet, with the backline rarely breached throughout the 90 minutes.
The result leaves both sides with work to do, though Brentford will be buoyed by their dominant performance at home. Michael Oliver oversaw the match, which kicked off at 16:30 GMT.
Looking ahead, Tottenham will need to regroup quickly if they hope to climb the table, while Brentford can build momentum from this assured display.
The formation used by both sides was 4-2-3-1, with Keith Andrews and Roberto De Zerbi respectively in charge of their tactical setups.
