Estac Troyes and Paris FC play out goalless draw in Ligue 1 opener
A cagey first Ligue 1 fixture of the season saw few clear-cut chances as both sides settled for a point.

Estac Troyes and Paris FC were unable to find the net as their Ligue 1 campaign opener ended in a goalless draw at Stade de l'Aube. The hosts, coaching in a 4-3-3 setup under Stephane Dumont, and Paris FC, lining up in a 4-2-3-1 formation under Liam Rosenior, cancelled each other out in a tightly contested affair. The deadlock was never broken across the two halves, with both defences largely on top. The game’s first booking came just after the hour mark when Estac Troyes’ J. M. Diaz picked up a yellow card in the 56th minute. Paris FC responded in kind through Otavio in the 62nd minute, with M. Diop adding a further caution for the home side in the 69th minute. Despite the late flurry of disciplinary action, neither team managed to create a decisive moment in front of goal. The result leaves both sides with a point apiece from their opening fixture. In the table released after the match, Paris FC sit seventh while Estac Troyes are ninth, both having played just one game. Referee Marc Bollengier brought the contest to a close without the need for extra time or drama.
