San Diego 3-0 Colorado Rapids: Valakari and Achouri fire hosts to comfortable snapdragon victory
San Diego secured a commanding first-half lead and cruised past Colorado Rapids with a third goal in the 71st minute.

San Diego got off to a dream start at Snapdragon Stadium, taking the lead in the 27th minute through O. Valakari, who found the back of the net to put the home side ahead. The advantage was doubled before halftime when E. Achouri scored in the 35th minute, leaving the visitors trailing 2-0 at the break.
The hosts continued to press in the second half and were rewarded in the 71st minute when Gabriel Pirani struck, capitalising on an assist from M. Ingvartsen to make it 3-0. The goal effectively sealed the contest and gave San Diego a comfortable cushion heading into the final stages.

Colorado Rapids struggled to find any rhythm in attack and were unable to breach the San Diego defence throughout the evening. Their frustrations mounted as the clock ticked down, and they were shown three yellow cards in the closing half.
R. Cannon was the first to be booked for the visitors in the 58th minute, followed by K. Rosenberry in the 89th minute. A third yellow card was handed out to A. Harris in stoppage time, adding to what was a difficult night for the Rapids.
Despite the late bookings, the match remained relatively tame in terms of disciplinary issues, with referee Pierre-Luc Lauziere keeping a firm but fair control of proceedings. San Diego, meanwhile, limited their guests to few genuine chances.
The win sees San Diego move onto 24 points from 20 matches, sitting in 13th place in the Western Conference. Colorado Rapids remain above them in 7th position with 28 points, though both sides will be keen to bounce back quickly in upcoming fixtures.
For San Diego, the clean sheet and three goals marked a strong team performance, particularly in the first half. The early goals gave them the platform to control the tempo and pick up a comfortable victory at home.
