The Vancouver Whitecaps secured a commanding victory with four goals before halftime, cruising past FC Dallas at BC Place.

Vancouver Whitecaps - FC Dallas

Vancouver Whitecaps ran riot in the first half at BC Place, racking up four goals en route to a convincing 5-0 victory over FC Dallas in Major League Soccer action. The result left Dallas searching for answers while Vancouver solidified their position near the top of the Western Conference.

The hosts needed just 11 minutes to break the deadlock, with E. Sabbi slotting home the opening goal. The early strike set the tone, and Vancouver doubled their lead through B. White in the 23rd minute, with E. Ocampo providing the assist.

White returned before the half-hour mark, scoring his second of the evening in the 37th minute to make it 3-0. The Whitecaps were in complete control, and their dominance was capped just before halftime when E. Ocampo found the net in first-half stoppage time, converting from close range after a pinpoint cross from A. Cubas.

The second half offered little respite for FC Dallas, who struggled to mount any meaningful attack. Their frustration boiled over with a string of yellow cards, including bookings for S. Moore, R. Binyamin, J. Torquato, and L. Abubakar.

Vancouver added a fifth goal in the 68th minute when B. Caicedo finished off a well-worked move, with T. Muller earning the assist. The goal sealed a comprehensive win for the Whitecaps, who showed clinical finishing throughout the match.

Despite the lopsided scoreline, Dallas managed to keep things relatively tight in the final third after the break. However, their defensive frailties from the opening period proved costly, and Vancouver capitalized on every opportunity.

The Whitecaps' clean sheet and emphatic performance lifted them to second in the Western Conference with 37 points from 19 games. FC Dallas, meanwhile, slipped to fifth in the conference, collecting just 33 points from 20 matches.

Referee Malik Badawi kept the game flowing despite the physical nature of Dallas's challenges. A late yellow card for M. Laborda in stoppage time was the only card shown to the home side.

The victory will boost Vancouver's confidence heading into their next fixture, while FC Dallas will need to regroup quickly and address the issues exposed by this heavy defeat.
