Arsenal come out firing under Arteta to dispatch Coventry at Emirates
Goals from Havertz, Saka and Odegaard seal a comfortable opening-day victory for the Gunners.

Arsenal got their Premier League campaign off to a smooth start at the Emirates Stadium, comfortably seeing off Coventry thanks to a clinical first-half display.
The hosts struck early when Kai Havertz slotted home in the 15th minute, capitalising on a precise through ball from Riccardo Calafiori. The assist set the tone for an Arsenal side keen to impose themselves from the outset.
Just eight minutes later, Bukayo Saka doubled the lead. His finish was composed, rounding the goalkeeper before slotting into the bottom corner, leaving the visitors scrambling for answers.

Coventry struggled to find any rhythm in midfield, and their defensive line looked increasingly exposed. A yellow card for Brandon Yirenkyi in the 27th minute summed up their frustration, as they failed to register a meaningful response before the break.
Arsenal returned from the tunnel with renewed energy, and their efforts paid off when Martin Odegaard added the third goal in the 49th minute. Ben White laid the ball off for Odegaard, who fired a low drive past the Coventry keeper to make it 3-0.
The visitors offered little in return, unable to breach an organised Arsenal defence. Gabriel’s yellow card in the 34th minute was a minor stain on an otherwise dominant performance from the Gunners.
Coventry, managed by Frank Lampard in his first match in charge, will need to regroup quickly. Their 4-1-4-1 formation offered little balance against Arsenal’s fluid 4-2-3-1 system.
For Arsenal, the win provides a strong platform to build upon. Mikel Arteta will be pleased with the tempo and precision shown, particularly in the opening half.
The Emirates Stadium crowd was treated to an entertaining and efficient display, with referee Thomas Bramall keeping the game flowing throughout.
While there were no further goals, the result sends a clear message from Arsenal as they begin their campaign at home.
