Vancouver Whitecaps 5-0 FC Dallas: Dominant home victory seals playoff push
Five different scorers lead Vancouver to a commanding win at BC Place.

Vancouver Whitecaps handed FC Dallas a heavy defeat at BC Place, running out 5-0 winners in a dominant display that strengthens their playoff push in the Western Conference.
The hosts got off to a flying start when E. Sabbi opened the scoring in the 11th minute, capitalising on early pressure to break the deadlock. Just over a decade later, B. White doubled the lead in the 23rd minute, slotting home a well-worked team move finished with composure.

White completed his brace before the break, finding the net again in the 37th minute to leave Dallas reeling heading into halftime. The rout was complete just before the break when E. Ocampo added a fourth in first-half stoppage time, ensuring the visitors endured a nightmare opening 45 minutes.
After the break, Vancouver continued where they left off and were rewarded in the 68th minute when B. Caicedo curled in a fine effort to make it 5-0. Despite the scoreline, Dallas struggled to find any rhythm throughout the match, with their attacking efforts largely frustrated by a disciplined Vancouver defence.
The home side were kept busy in midfield, with several players receiving yellow cards as the game grew physical in the latter stages. M. Laborda was the last to be booked in stoppage time, but the result was never seriously threatened.
For Vancouver, the victory lifts them to second in the Western Conference on 37 points from 19 games, while Dallas drop to fifth on 33 points after 20 matches.
Referee Malik Badawi kept a tight rein on proceedings, dishing out a string of cautions as both sides traded fouls in the closing stages. The result leaves the playoff race in the West wide open, with Vancouver firmly in the mix and Dallas facing a battle to keep pace.
The win will be remembered as a statement of intent from Vancouver at BC Place, with their clinical finishing and solid organisation punishing every Dallas mistake. All five goals came from within the Vancouver squad, highlighting a collective team effort.
