However, AZ Alkmaar had one more goal in them, with Ro Zangelo Daal scoring his second of the evening in the 86th minute, this time assisted by Calvin Stengs.
The result leaves AZ Alkmaar top of the Eredivisie with nine points from three games, while GO Ahead Eagles remain in third place with seven points.
