Lazio left Bologna with all three points after a hard-fought 1-0 victory at the Renato Dall'Ara on Sunday afternoon. The match was contested in front of a tense crowd in the Emilian capital, with both sides probing for openings but finding few clear chances in a goalless first half.
The breakthrough arrived just past the hour mark when Davide Frattesi found the back of the net in the 59th minute. The Lazio midfielder finished calmly after being set up by Boulaye Dia, who had earlier been cautioned in a busy first half. The goal proved decisive, giving the visitors the lead and shifting the momentum of the contest.
Bologna, managed by Domenico Tedesco in a 4-2-3-1, pushed hard for an equaliser in the latter stages. They were met with a disciplined Lazio rearguard, marshalled by Gennaro Gattuso's 4-3-3 system.
